Article of the Week
Autumn 2
Week 1 - 6th November - Governments must do all they can to ensure every child can enjoy their rights. UNCRC Article of the week- Articles 1 & 4, World Children’s Day
Week 2 - Every child has the right to a say in all matters affecting them & have their views taken seriously. UNCRC Article of the week- Articles 2, 12 & 19 Anti-Bullying Week
Week 3 - If the laws of a country protect children better than the articles of the Convention, then those laws must stay in place. UNCRC Article of the week- Articles 4 & 41, Human Rights Day
Week 4 - We all have the right to think & believe what we want & to practise our own religion as long as we are not stopping others from enjoying their rights.
Week 5 - Governments must do all they can to support disabled children & their families. UNCRC Article of the week- Article 23 International Day of Disabilities
Week 6 - If the laws of a country protect children better than the articles of the Convention, then those laws must stay in place. UNCRC Article of the week- Articles 4 & 41, Human Rights Day
Autumn 1
Week 1 - 4th September -Every child has the right to an education - UNCRC Article of the Week- Articles 28 & 29 Education
Week 2 - 11th September - Every child has the right to an identity. Governments must respect & protect that right - UNCRC Article of the week- Article 8, Protection & preservation of identity
Week 3 - 18th September - Every child has the right to the best possible health - UNCRC Article of the week- Article 24, Health & Health services
Week 4 - 25th September - The convention applies to everyone: whatever their race, religion or abilities. UNCRC Article of the week- Articles 2 & 30 Black History Month
Week 5 - 2nd October - Every child must be free to express our thoughts and opinions - UNCRC Article of the week- Articles 13 Freedom of Expression
Week 6 - 9th October - Every child has the right to the best possible health, including mental health- UNCRC Article of the week- Article 24 Mental Health
Week 7 - 16th October - Every child has the right to a good standard of living - UNCRC Article of the week- Articles 26 & 27
Week 8 - 23rd October - Every child has the right to life. Governments must do all they can to make sure children survive & develop to their full potential UNCRC Article of the week- Article 6, Life, survival & development
